Attendance has a positive impact on children’s attitudes towards learning and the education they receive. Our expectation is that children will attend school regularly and punctually unless there is a very good reason for absence. Should your child be absent for any reason, please telephone reception at your earliest convenience. School starts at 9am prompt, any arrivals after this time will be marked as late. Any arrivals after 9:15am will be marked as unauthorised. Children can arrive from 8:45am or from 8am if they are registered and booked into the Breakfast Club.
As a school we have a responsibility to report back to parents regularly on their child’s attendance. Letters will be sent home on a half termly basis outlining attendance information. Registers are reviewed regularly, and where attendance falls below 92% we as a school have an obligation to inform parents and in some cases, pupils may be referred to the Pupil Support Service. The illustration below provides a clear picture of attendance and expectations over the academic year, as illustrated below. Every lesson counts, every school day counts!

Mae cofrestrau'n cael eu hadolygu'n rheolaidd, a pryd mae presenoldeb yn disgyn o dan 92% mae gennym ni fel ysgol rwymedigaeth i ddweud i’r rhieni ac, mewn rhai achosion, gall disgyblion gael eu cyfeirio at y Gwasanaeth Cefnogi Disgyblion.
